SDE is one of the largest manufacturers of pressings and assemblies in the UK. Based on the outskirts of Shrewsbury in Shropshire, our modern, purpose-built factory is within easy access to the motorway network.
Metal Pressing
SDE is a specialist in high-volume metal presswork, operating a versatile range of mechanical and hydraulic presses from 100 to 1000 tonnes, with bed sizes up to 4500 x 1800mm. We run progression, transfer and deep-draw tooling for complex, tight-tolerance components across demanding applications. Supported by in-house tooling, simulation-led development and stringent process control, our press shop consistently delivers repeatable, dimensionally accurate parts for automotive, domestic appliances, defence, construction a nuclear customers.
Fabrication
SDE delivers high-integrity fabrications and welded assemblies for demanding automotive, aerospace, nuclear, construction and industrial applications.
Our fabrication facility combines MIG, TIG, manual and robotic welding with precision cutting, forming and jigging to produce repeatable, structurally robust components and assemblies. Supported by dedicated fixtures, calibrated inspection equipment and robust quality systems, we supply fabrications that are production-ready, fully traceable, and built to perform in real-world service conditions
Powder Coating
SDE offers advanced powder coating capability, delivering durable, corrosion-resistant finishes for automotive, aerospace, nuclear, horticultural and construction components. Our two automated lines incorporate multi-stage pre-treatment, precision application and controlled curing, routinely achieving 1,000+ hour salt spray performance where specified. With rapid colour changeovers in under 10 minutes, we support both high-volume production and specialised technical work. All processes are backed by thorough inspection, test data and full traceability, ensuring finishes that are consistent, reliable and engineered to last.
