Salop Design & Engineering is a tiered supplier to the automotive sector, manufacturing safety-critical and structural metallic components for both passenger car and commercial vehicle platforms.
Our capability spans mechanical, hydraulic and progression presswork up to 1000 tonnes, CNC machining, robotic and manual welding, and integrated surface finishing.
We produce components such as chassis brackets, BIW reinforcements, brake components, NVH brackets, crossmembers and pressed sub-frames in a range of materials including mild steel, HSLA, dual-phase steels and stainless grades. Tooling and process design are supported by CAD/CAM and forming simulation, with full application of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups and process capability studies (Cp, Cpk, Ppk) on key characteristics.
All automotive production is controlled under IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, with structured APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP and SPC deployed as standard. Dimensional verification is carried out using CMM, Faro Arm and dedicated gauging, backed by gauge R&R and calibration systems.
Using Theory of Constraints (TOC)-driven planning and KPI-based shop-floor control, we maintain stable throughput, managed WIP and high OTIF performance, supporting JIT, sequenced delivery, controlled shipping and buffer stock models to align with OEM and Tier 1 logistics strategies.
